Far From Over Atlanta
Monday, July 17, 2006For
the record, the Braves are only 3 games out of the wild card. So much
for all the number crunching people are doing to determine how many
games the Braves need to win the rest of the way. What's that? You are
telling me that the Braves are really 5 1/2 games out of the wild card?
Come on! Do you really believe in Cincinnati? The Reds can’t be taken
seriously. Picking up the bullpen help will help initially, but they
gave up too much for long run. They will begin their usual tail off
soon. Hopefully that doesn't coincide with the typical Griffey injury
because I do root for him.
You have to feel very good right now
as a Braves fan. With a road series kicking off tonight against St.
Louis, the Braves are riding off their last 3 series. Two division
leaders and the temporary wild card leader, St. Louis, Cincinnati, and
San Diego all looked dangerous after seeing the Braves in June.
However, the Braves went 8-2 in those 3 series averaging over 8 runs
per game. Giving up over 5 runs per game leaves much to work on.

Way to go Braves fans for trying to run Chipper out of town. If he stays hot, those numbers are very conservative.
If you look at every aspect minus
the bullpen of this Braves team, you have to believe in the wild card.
There is a lot of speculation about what the Braves will and should do.
Regardless, they are in this and like it or not, they are the
favorites. After all, these are the Braves.
